Like most Bostonians, my attitude is why travel someplace else when all you could want is right here. Neverthess, some friends and I have occassionally wandered to other parts of the globe and taken some pretty cool hikes.

See whether you can guess where some of these photos were taken (hint - think of the show Survivor 2).

Yeah, I'm not hiking here. But the long portages more than qualify this as a bonafide hike up a river few people have probably seen.

This was a really cool hike. Notice that Luke hiked it wearing "the traditional footware," as he put it.

Notice the eyes looking up from the surface of the water (near the shore). There was about 15 feet more of this "salty" under the water that you can't see. No hiking here.
